Took some time off for 2 days to clean and organize the shop for two more sub builds starting Monday but sneaked some time in on this Ford Trimotor that my friend Byron sent me. It’s a 35 year old kit made by the late company Sterling. It was still sealed and all in tack inside. The wood and plastic parts all still good.
I’m using a 250 sized brushless out runner electric motor and the other two engines will have dummy props that turn when the plane is being flown. Always liked this 30s designed. Planes from the period were just so cool looking.
I’ll sneak some more in here and there until she’s done and flying. 34 inch span. Nice size.

That is pretty amazing progress. Love the old Sterling kits. Would have never thought of using today’s electrics in lieu of a rubber band
Thanks Tom. I’m flying a F-4U and it has a 17 inch span with Elevator, ailerons, rudder, and throttle with a steerable tail wheel. They just keep getting smaller.
