    Nice CGI model. 😀

I’m loving this project. This is absolutely one of my favorite Sci-Fi vehicles of all time. I take it this is going to be a scratch build?

By the way, where did you get the idea for the weapons locations? I know that’s not from the movie, I’ve seen it many times. (I have the DVD, of course)

Yeah anyway, where’d those weapons blisters come from?! That drawing does have the profile from The Saucer Fleet by Jack Haggerty and Jon Rogers. They looked at the C57-D frame by frame and traced it into a CAD program, so it’s as accurate as you’ll get without finding a surviving studio model. (IIRC a smaller studio model still survives, but the larger one got chopped to bits with an ax by Agnes Moorehead. Damn that Endora!) The Polar Lights model has an incorrect symmetrical saucer profile. I just gotta bite the bullet and build mine.

The new smaller 1 /144 scale Polar Lights kit has the profile corrected, it may be good for reference.

Out of curiosity, how big is the studio scale model?
